NEW THEATER AND OPERA
Developing scenic procedure in performance incorporating Music Theatre, Opera and Live Art
This 2-day physical workshop is suitable for movers, musicians and performers, celebrating the joy of experimentation through the scenic procedures of Music Theatre, Opera and Live Art.
We aim to take from the most popular, most funded, yet exclusive art form and democratize it. Using elements of the operatic world to develop your artistic practice, by experimenting and undergoing principles of opera creation. We will mix the worlds of Live Art and large-scale performance techniques, blending the world of the actor, the dancer and the artist.
Over two days, we combine movement training and interdisciplinary creation methods, looking at opera as a resource for experimental creation for your artistic practice. Aiming to incorporate these methods as alternative, inventive tools for your artistic practice. We will look at the art of limitations, the creation of performance states, transformation through sound/noise art and embodiment.
The workshop takes place at TATWERK Hasenheide 9, Berlin
– 2 days of work. – 6 hours per day.
