Ariel Gutierrez Torres

PEDAGOGICAL DIRECTOR. MOVEMENT, IMPROVISATION, COMPOSITION, PERFORMATIVE RESEARCH.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Ariel Gutierrez has a background in international politics, Literature and Performing Arts. He studied at the Ecole Internationale de Theatre Jacques Lecoq in 1996 and attended Jerzy Grotowski ‘s seminar on Theatre anthropology at College de France in 1996/1997. He has also trained at Odin Teatret in Denmark with Eugenio Barba. In 2011, he joined LISPA (London International School of Performing Arts).

He was one of the original members of Arthauss Berlin where he created the «Praxis» component as an integral part of the training program. Ariel teaches movement, composition,improvisation and Performance theory. Moreover, he supervises graduate students ‘post graduate projects in universities in UK, USA, Sweden and Latin America.

Ariel Gutierrez Torres - Embodied Arts Project

An active collaborator with companies in the US, Europe and Latin America for more than 15 years, he holds a MA in Performing Arts from the University of the Arts in Stockholm (SKH)and a PhD in Modern Languages and Literatures from the University of Miami with an emphasis on Performance. His dissertation “Scenic Landscapes: The theater in the global city” explores the relation between globalization, theater and non-conventional performance spaces. He founded the company Teatro al sur in Long Beach, California and has studied at Sportivo Teatral in Buenos Aires under the direction of Ricardo Bartis.

He has been a guest artist advisor at BAD (Beyond Art Disciplines) in Stockholm, Sweden in and an active collaborator with the Nordisk Teater Laboratorium and Ikarus project in Denmark. Ariel has been invited to multiple theater festivals and symposiums in Europe and Latin America (FIT de Cadiz, Montevideo, GETEA Buenos Aires, Olomouc, Czech Republic, Institut de Teatre, Barcelona, University of Miami, Universidade de Uberlandia, Brasil, University of Long Beach, California, Stockholm University of the Arts) and published numerous articles on theater, performance and training in academic journals and theater magazines in United States, Brazil, Cuba, Argentina and Spain.

His research about Psychogeography and Performance has been published in 2024 in Cambridge Scholars Publishing.

Shai Cohen - Embodied Arts project Team

Shai Cohen

PHYSICAL COMEDY, CLOWN, MOVEMENT.

Shai is a multidisciplinary artist, currently based in Berlin.
She comes from the worlds of physical theatre, clowning, puppetry and object theatre, working as a performer, director, designer and dramaturg.

Shai trained in physical theatre & clowning at “Beit Hagefen”, Haifa and “Hayadit” theatre, Pardes Hana and completed the MA program at Arthaus Berlin.

Past & current works includes “The Neo Anderthals” (Israel, 2017-2019), “Balkon Kunst” (Berlin, 2021), “La Caravana” (Berlin, 2021), “Memories That Never Were”(Berlin,Poznan, 2022), “Grounded” (current).

Javier Swedzky - Embodied Arts Project Team

Javier Swedzky

OBJECT THEATER, DRAMATURGY, DIRECTING.

Javier has trained in theater in Córdoba, Argentina with Graciela Ferrari (member of the Libre Teatro Libre directed by María Escudero) He studied cinema at the Cordoba National University; puppets at ESNAM –École Superieure des Arts de la Marionnette at Charleville-Mézières, France, and theater pedagogy at the University of Paris III, Sorbonne Nouvelle, France.

He was a member of El Periférico de Objetos, and was directed by Marie Vayssière (actress and assistant to Tadeusz Kantor). He is a playwright, performer and director. In 2001 he created the theater company Teatro a Reglamento (Regulated Work) – TAR. With TAR, he created shows for children and adult audiences, in theatrical and non-theatrical spaces such as hospitals, museums, public spaces. He has also created the theater company Compañía al Pie de la Cama (Bed foot project).

His research on object theater is published in multiple articles in books and specialized magazines. Currently, he teaches the online Puppet Dramaturgy workshop at CELCIT and teaches Dramaturgy in the MA in Theater of objects, interactivity and new media at the National University of the Arts, UNA, Buenos Aires. He is the co-director of the Bachelor of Performing Arts at the Universidad de San Martín in Argentina.

Fidel Lucas Achirico Espinoza - Embodied Arts Project Team

Fidel Lucas Achirico Espinoza

VOCAL TRAINING, COLLABORATIVE CREATION, MOVEMENT ANALYSIS.

He is an actor, musician, in 1992 he joined the group TEATRO DE LOS ANDES of Bolivia where he was artistically trained for 18 years with the direction of César Brie and later with guest directors and teachers such as: Aristides Vargas and Charo Frances (Malayerba Theater), Diego Aramburo (Kikin Theater), Elias Cohen (KIM Dancing Theater).

Collaborative Creation is the basis of work that the Teatro de los Andes has developed over the years and vocal work, physical training and the creation of images are the backbone for the construction of theater pieces.

Over the years Lucas Achirico has developed a pedagogy of vocal work. Furthermore, he is a singer and a composer of musical pieces for theater as well as other genres. He currently lives in Poland where he continues with his artistic work, with his group family/company Entre Dos Aguas un Teatro (Between Two Waters Theater).

Inda Pereda - Embodied Arts project Team

Inda Pereda

PHYSICAL COMEDY, CLOWN, BOUFFON.

Born in Vilafranca del Penedès (Barcelona), Inda Pereda is an actor, clown, director and pedagogue. In 2016 he founded the Inda Pereda Company, an artistic project that is characterized by producing gestural comedy shows without text.

His shows TRAPPED, LUBBERT and THE HERO’S JOURNEY have toured theaters and festivals in the United States, England, Austria, Germany, Italy and Spain. He has collaborated as a clown for 6 seasons in the show «The Incredible Box» by Cia La Tal, on national and international tours (AWARD for the best street show at the Kulturboerse Fair in Freiburg and the MUECA Festival). He is co-director and founding member of the Basque absurd comedy company Koilara Teatro.

He worked as an actor and creator in international casts of several physical theatre and comedy companies such as Teatro en Vilo, East End Cabaret, Seemia Theatre, Normal Love, Nuve Nueve Physical Theatre, Carolyn Defrín, Concert Theatre, etc. All these experiences nourished him as an artist and led him to perform at Sadler’s Wells and the Southbank Centre in London.

Alice Presencer

VOCAL TRAINING, DANCE AND COLLABORATIVE CREATION.

Alice Presencer is a performing artist and performance maker whose work is situated within voice and dance practices.

Her artistic endeavors span across various disciplines, including singing, dancing, performing, filmmaking, and choreography. Through the merging of different artistic practices, she strives to encourage the contemplation of accepted norms within emotional expression.
